Bronwen Foster - Environmental Education Officer

Bronwen is the environmental education officer at Rondevlei Nature Reserve. She comes from Kuils River and became interested in Nature Conservation as a career while at high school. As she gained experience in conservation, Bronwen found that she enjoyed doing environmental education. She was education officer at Durbanville Nature Reserve before taking over the well known environmental education centre at Rondevlei in 2006.

As environmental educator, it is Bronwen’s job to provide interested people with information about the nature reserve. She therefore has to know what is happening in and around the nature reserve. She also needs to understand the school curriculum so that she can plan and present exciting lessons for school groups visiting the reserve. Bronwen enjoys the opportunity to be creative when setting up displays and preparing presentations. She also loves sharing what she knows about the environment with learners and seeing them get excited about the things she shows them at Rondevlei.
